What Does It Take To Save The Legacy?

What Does It Take To Save The Legacy?

All people are responsible for the destiny of their country. This becomes yet more obvious in the hard times like all of us are facing right now.

Should I give in to the trite habit of offering you the usual consolations, like, "the darkest hour is just before the dawn"? Should I tell you all that everything will settle down somehow? Would you, in your turn, accept this? No!

So let me start by saying, let's stop lying to ourselves: it is dark outside, and it is the night swarming with dangers. We are probably yet to see the "darkest hour", as we've just entered these black waters, but it is up to us to turn this all into the Night of Revelation. It is up to us to use this time to re-assess, to take in, to study, to read up on things we've always known are worth it. The hardest times are the best for learning, the best for remembering, so let's make time our ally.

Time... time is history, and there are always two parties to the history-making process: there are Those who make history, and Those who write it down.

Time... You need to remember that in this Universe there is always time for everything. Every event happens within the context, and every event has its own time.

Events, like fruit, fall into our hands once they are ripe; like pomegranates, they break in halves, splashing their blood-like juice around, asking us to pick them up, look inside, taste them and look for the tree which has produced them.

Most of them would taste bitter, but each time the taste is different, and we'd better study the reasons and connections to grow good trees of History to bear us better Fruit of events.

It wouldn't be a revelation though, that we, those who care, are now to inherit the great Legacy falling into our hands; it is up to all of us to make sure that this Legacy would not turn out to be too big, or too heavy for us, that it wouldn't overwhelm us, but rather give us power to use it wisely. This is the moment for all of us to try on the Crown, so let's make sure our heads are big enough to uphold it, and our souls and hearts are mature enough to bear the responsibility coming with it.

Let's face it, six months, or so, were time sufficient enough to grow and prepare to catch the banner which is about to be soiled here and there, and I wouldn't exaggerate much if I say, that for this time given to us to a great price we are eternally grateful; pain and grief can be turned into allies once we learn to use their energy, and channel it into something productive and creative. Let sadness and fear come over you, drain them from their energy, and use it for learning.

The greatest gift the Green Book and the Green Charter have given us is the detailed description of the Jamahiriya, the state of the masses, and Human Rights as they should be in the modern age. Let's treat it as our Legacy.

And, before we'd run to form people's conferences and committees, let's look deep inside of our hearts and minds, take a deep breath, and ask ourselves, "can I entrust you with something so important, so great, and yet so vulnerable?

Are you sure you're totally ready for this?"

Remember that ideas, even the most brilliant ones, are never protected by their greatness; they need embodiment, and those who would personify them.

Take some time to ask yourselves that, and don't worry if it takes awhile; sometimes it is not enough for someone to be ready for his goal, the goal must be "ripe" enough for that person, and only then can they be brought together.

Power has many aspects, but probably there is no greater power than that of a human over himself, or herself. Before you are to participate in the life of a state, why don't you turn yourself into a state? It is easier than you think, because each aspect of a human life is mirrored in the life of a state. Look at it this way: family and friends, and our relations with them might equal "domestic policy"; formal relations with those who are not close to us might pass for "foreign policy"; "economy" might stand for work,  money matters for "finance", etc.

In this case, our aim is we ourselves; we do not need to blame governments, or people around us; we need to learn to take responsibility for our own lives, because without it how can we take a responsibility for the life of a whole country? If our own lives are a mess, how can we claim to be able to rule a whole state, and be responsible for not just ourselves, but masses of other people?

The life of an individual, and that of a state are in fact inseparable, and the only difference from state to state is the distance between the two. In Jamahiriya, this distance is non-existent, which is why this is the clearest and purest case of "participative democracy".

In other words, a person who is his own governor does not need a government over himself, because he is ready to take the responsibility for his country, once he has done so in his own life, and this is the basic principle of the direct democracy, and a key to the correct understanding of the Green Book. The country will then be run smoothly by like-minded people, who are not separated by contradictions, who do not persist, blindfolded by the desires of their own egos, who are united in their very vision, and who would never fall so low as to fight against one another. The life, the mere survival of one must indeed equal the well-being of the whole country.

And believe it or not, you have got everything for that already, guidance of every kind has been provided. All you need to become a "self-dictator" is your own will-power and desire to figure out your own life, never forgetting of the Legacy which has fallen into your hands.

And yes, it is very true that the first Jamahiriya is under heavy attack now, but even if the centre is lost, it doesn't mean anything, while so many people are prepared – each! – to unfold and reproduce the Jamahiriya in any part of the world, like green bees or locusts. Never forget though, that to change the world one should start with himself; to be true heirs to the state of the masses, be ready to become human-states first.

It takes not more than a mustard seed to grow into a big tree, so don't be afraid to plant it, once you have it.
