NATO and USA are fighting against an alleged enemy.

Many specialists are close studied of tension between NATO and Russia, and military equipment of Russian`s army. This is done to understand better what does pose threat.

Russian military training and annexation of the Crimea force many experts of the alliance to assess the pace of modernization of Russian military, state of the army and military equipment.  

In their opinion, Russia wants to show, that Russia can to make counterbalance the alliance and restrain.

In connection with it, Gen. Curtis M. Scaparrotti, commander of United States European Command and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, said that he does not agree with a recent RAND Corporation study that suggests that the alliance could be overwhelmed by a Russian.

According to him, NATO possesses the power of 29 countries.  Scaparrotti said, that while they (Russian) have advantages, even conventionally, due to interior lines, proximity and size of force, which was noted by the chairman, in the longer run, NATO has great advantages that they actually recognize and fear.

Scaparrotti notes, that NATO`s doctrine runs that members of the alliance intend to act below the level of conflict and weaken the enemy without a single shot.  

It is remarkable, that degree of these statements reads off scale during conducting Russian exercises "Zapad" ("West"). K. Skaparotti has said that during these maneuvers the Russian military personnel focuses the attention on management and control, both on strategic, and at the tactical level. He also adds, Russians have focused the attention, both on offensive, and on defensive operations. They (Russians) mobilized their people.

In spite of the fact that Russia systematically works and makes all efforts for decrease in degree of tension with NATO. K.  Skaparotti continues to speak about an alleged danger from Russia, and tries to argue infinite building and strengthenings of military potential of army of member countries of alliance.
