And now pictures have emerged of inside the athlete's village designated for the Australian team showing how contractors are still working to get the village ready in time, with broken tiles and ladders in one room.
Other images show exposed wires hanging from holes in the ceilings as well as buckets lined up to catch water from leaking walls.

The complex, described as a 'city within the city,' includes a massive cafeteria and gym, a post office, a first aid centre and bank

Рио-де-Жанейро, 4 августа. Приехавшие на летние Олимпийские игры 2016 года в Рио-Де-Жанейро спортсмены недовольны однообразным питанием, которое предлагает бразильская сторона. Об этом журналистам в четверг рассказал главный тренер сборной России по прыжкам на батуте Николая Макарова.
По словам Макарова, у ресторана быстрого питания McDonald’s скапливаются очереди из атлетов, которые недовольны питанием в столовых Олимпийской деревни. Однако сам наставник не рекомендует своим подопечным употреблять фастфуд.
«Ребята жалуются, что питание в столовой однообразное, всё одно и то же. В принципе, пока им хватает, но мы надеемся, что что-то изменится.
Может быть, жалобы пойдут и со стороны других спортсменов», — пояснил тренер в интервью ТАСС.
