This is the parade in Moscow's Red Square, devoted to the 40th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 9 May 1985. Парад Победы 1985 года, посвященные 40-летию Победы, Советского народа в Великой Отечественной Войне.The Soviet Union bore the brunt of the Fascist attack from Nazi Germany in World War II.

Indeed it took the lives of nearly 30 million Soviet people to protect their homeland from the Nazi invaders. The war left a lasting trauma on the USSR, and to this day Russia's demographics have never recovered from the war. Victory Day is a sacred holiday in the former Soviet Union, it is a holiday that is celebrated with tears. Presiding over the military parade is Minister of Defense of the USSR, Marshal of the Soviet Union; Sergei Sokolov. Commanding the parade is commander of the Moscow Military District, General of the Army; Pyotr Lushev (this would be his last parade as commander of the MMD). Music by the Moscow Military District Orchesta, directed by Major General; Nikolai Mikhailov.
