Museums in quest for top heritage awards in Notts

NINE Notts museums are contenders at this year's Renaissance Heritage Awards. The winners of six award categories including the Museum of the Year will be announced at a ceremony at Thoresby Courtyard on Tuesday, July 20.

The awards are a celebration of the work taking place in the county's museums and heritage collections.

A team of judges have been visiting the entrants who are vying for plaques and prizes and they will select the winners of these sought-after awards.

This year's contenders are Broxtowe Borough Council''s DH Lawrence Heritage, Bassetlaw Museum, Mansfield Museum, Nottinghamshire Archives, Nottingham City Museums and Galleries, Flintham Museum, The Pierrepoint Collection, University of Nottingham Museum and Worcester and Sherwood Foresters Museum.
